Just… Look… Just look
Oh and it was my first holiday for over 10 years! And it. was. awesome!! We had so much fun and my sister bought us sooo much clothes and I know spent well over $2000 on us (thanks aps). I’m just gonna document some of the many things we did over there. The only minus was the ‘Murican officals stopping us for long cause we’re brown :/.
First of all, my sister and her in-laws live in Baltimore, Maryland (which is a beautiful and underappreciated city in my opinion) which has a beautiful “harbor” ;) as seen here. So we stayed here.. little fact: my sister’s an “eye doctor” in America and so I hope she gets a really nice house inshallah. But yeah, the plane flight was slightly scary cos I hasn’t been on a plane in over 10 years (I was only 7 then) and of course, I had to get used to it :/.
As soon as we stepped out into the airport carpark, you could literally see the heat waves in the hair, even though it was only 28 degrees Celsius. The main thing was the humidity, which we don’t get in England so that was an experience! After a few days, I actually began to like the hot weather (surprise!) so that was good.
During the first weeek, we went to the 3 malls in and around Catonsville (they are amazing). The first one we went to had its own fake medieval castle inside it! The shops were amazing too.. and we had our first experience of an American McDonald’s (noice ;)), over the course of two weeks my sister spent sooo much money on us :o but it was cool :) During the second or third day, we ate Gyro…. BEST FOOD EVER.. IT WAS LIKE HEAVEN.. I MISS IT :’(
In the second week, we decided to go to Ocean City, MD which was like a 3 and a half hour drive from the house. My sister had decided to book a hotel on the way but unfortunately, the hotel owner had given the room away when we got there to check in at 4am on the saturday (haha) and so basically we had no sleep from Friday all the way to Sunday.. we slept on the beach. I’m not one to like the beach (sun. sand.. yer alright) but even I had to say it was good.. the Dunkin’ Donuts at 7am helped as well ;). Then, on the Wednesday, we decided to go to HersheyPark in Pennsylvania. WOOO BABY ;) the ride called “Fahrenheit” is seriously one of the best rollercoasters about. Also, the hot chocolate I had in the factory was one of the best ever.. we got home at around 2am and then 8am the next day we decided to go to NEW YORK! I loved New York, although we only had about 8 hours to do anything :/ I hope to go again one day and maybe stay for 4-5 days to truly take in the vastness of the city that never sleeps. This much travelling sure meant we were knackered on the friday (our last day :() so we basically slept that day.
Oh yeah, we also went to Walmart (c’est tres grand) and shopping in which I bought two pairs of shoes, 3 pairs of jeans and a few tops *phew*. After daying goodbye to my amazing eldest sister and my nephews, it was hometime :( I wish we could’e stayed longer.. maybe next time. Baskin-Robbins milkshake is gorgeaous and don’t ask for the large size - you’ll fail to drink even 1/3 of it (America i.e. everything is massive)
This was the first holiday I had in over 10 years and it was action-packed and a great holiday :) Let’s hope there’s many more!
